Coopersville, Mich., native, Spc. Patrick Degeus, prepares an Iraqi soldier for the firing line April 17 at Joint Security Station Nasir Wa Salam. Degeus is an infantryman with Company C, 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, U.S. Division-Center, but he has been working with the 4th SBCT's Military Transition Team to train Iraqis in infantry tactics with the M-16 rifle.
