MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII – Richard “Keke” Papa, a Hawaiian minister, and a Kaneohe, native, performs a traditional Hawaiian blessing on the new MV-22 hangar during the ribbon cutting ceremony on Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay aboard Marine Corps Base Hawaii, July 19, 2016. Papa blessed the construction site before the first bulldozer leveled the area and now blesses the hangar to help protect the crew and Ospreys that will work there. The ceremony was held to celebrate the completion of an MV-22 Osprey hangar. The new unit will be the first Osprey squadron to be stationed in Hawaii. Senior military leaders, members of Hawaii’s congressional delegation and key community partners attended the event to support and praise the completion of the MV-22 hangar.
