During his most recent visit, Gen. Douglas M. Fraser, commanding general, U.S. Southern Command, meets with the U.S. ambassador to Haiti, Ken Merten, to discuss the conditions and improvements in the Port-au-Prince area. Fraser has made several visits since the earthquake Jan. 12. His visit May 3 gave Fraser the opportunity to walk through a new resettlement camp and speak with the president of Haiti. Fraser's visits are to show continuing support for the relationship between the U.S. and Haiti and to witness first-hand the relief efforts of the Joint Task Force.
