PORT ORCHARD, Wash. (July 29, 2016) – The Steiner family awaits entering their new home built and constructed by Habitat for Humanity volunteers from the local community, many of whom were Sailors from USS Nimitz (CVN 68), during a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Nimitz is currently undergoing an extended planned incremental maintenance availability at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility where the ship is receiving scheduled maintenance and upgrades.
