(Middle) Dr. Neal A. Sher and his wife Judy (left), along with his assistant Nancy Read, were honored during the activation ceremony for South Dakota's Army National Guard 196th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade May 8, at the Elmen Center, Augustana College campus. Sher performed 21 vision correction surgeries to Soldiers of the 196th free of charge. Gov. Michael Rounds has declared May 8, Dr. Neal A. Sher Day in South Dakota to honor his service to the Soldiers.
