SASEBO, Japan (Aug. 10, 2016) A Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) assigned to Naval Beach Unit 7, stages to enter the well deck of amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6). LCACs are used to move troops and gear ashore during amphibious beach assaults. Bonhomme Richard, flagship of the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
