Staff Sgt. Lewis Collins (left foreground), from Baker, Fla., a supply sergeant with the 1st Squadron, 131st Cavalry, is ceremonially knighted into the Order of Saint George as he is lightly touched on his shoulder by a saber wielded by Lt. Col. James B. Wharton, from Arab, Ala., the unit commander, with Command Sgt. Maj. Robert Till (right foreground), from Clanton, Ala., serving as a witness to the ceremonial act.
Collins was honored in a traditional ritual for having qualified for entry into the order through what current members of the order identify as his long and honorable service to Armor and Cavalry.
Guests in attendance to view the occasion included members of the order, current and former unit members, their families and friends.
