Navy for Moms member Susanne Walsh from Pennsylvania, whose daughter is currently assigned to the Seabees, participates in the third annual Staten Island. Navy for Moms staff members recently hosted a barbecue for service members attending Fleet Week New York 2010. The group was created in 2008 for the mothers and loved ones of those who are currently serving or considering serving in the U.S. Navy. The group gives members a support group to discuss issues with others who share common concerns. Hosted nearly every year since 1984, Fleet Week includes dozens of military demonstrations and displays May 26 through June 2, as well as public visitation of many of the participating ships and community visits and charitable outreach by the more than 3,000 participating Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen.
