ARABIAN GULF (Oct. 8, 2016) Petty Officer 2nd Class Erica Armstrong, from Brooklyn, N.Y., inspects the seams of flight deck pants in the paraloft shop of the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) (Ike). Armstrong servers aboard the Ike as aircrew survival equipmentman and is responsible for maintenance of all survival gear for aircrew members and pilots. Ike and its Carrier Strike Group are deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
