Marines with Companies B and C, 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division, check Parachute rig prior to a free-fall training aboard Camp Pendleton, Calif., Oct. 4, 2016. The training familiarizes Marines with high altitude infiltration tactics and the multi-mission parachute system in preparation of future deployments with the Marine Expeditionary Units. 1st Marine Division is employed as the ground combat element of I Marine Expeditionary Force and provides the ground combat forces necessary for ship to shore forcible entry operations.
