    Marines with Companies B and C, 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division, jump out of an MV-22B Osprey during a free-fall training aboard Camp Pendleton, Calif., Oct. 4, 2016. To avoid being compromised during insertion, Marines exit the aircraft at or above 10,000 feet giving them a stealthy approach on the enemy. 1st Marine Division is employed as the ground combat element of I Marine Expeditionary Force and provides the ground combat forces necessary for ship to shore forcible entry operations.
