U.S. Marine Cpl. Timothy Perez, combat engineer with Combat Engineer Platoon, Task Force Koa Moana 16-4, cuts into a concrete wall during an Engineer Civil Assistance Project at a local school in Port Vila, Vanuatu, Oct. 25, 2016. Marines teamed up with the Vanuatu Mobility Force to renovate the school after it was degraded by Cyclone Pam last year. The Koa Moana exercise seeks to enhance senior military leader engagements between allied and partner nations in the Pacific with a collective interest in relations and to discuss key aspects of operations, capability development and interoperability in the South Pacific.
