Coast Guard Petty Officer 2nd Class Daniel R. Shaffer, a flight mechanic from Air Station Clearwater, Florida, forward deployed to Great Inagua, Bahamas, leans out an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter from Air Station Clearwater while over Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, after completing his first operational search-and-rescue hoist, Sept. 25, 2016. Shaffer and the helicopter crew forward deploy in support of Operation Bahamas Turks and Caicos, a counter drug operation, but continue to support the Coast Guard's primary mission of search-and-rescue.
