Drill instructors from Mike Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, correct a recruit’s form before the Bayonet Assault Course and pugil sticks at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Jan. 18. Recruits were taught various offensive and defensive techniques used during close-combat scenarios. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Mike Company is scheduled to graduate March 31.
