Recruits from Mike Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, battle each other during Pugil Sticks I at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Jan. 18. The pugil sticks training event is conducted three times during training and serves as a chance for recruits to execute martial arts techniques learned aboard the depot. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Mike Company is scheduled to graduate March 31.
