YOKOSUKA, Japan (Feb. 11, 2017) – Capt. Jeffrey Kim (left), Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY) and Capt. Michael Jansen (right), Commander United Nations Command (Rear) welcome Capt. Shaun Jones (middle) from Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) Tidespring (A136) to Fleet Activities (FLEACT) Yokosuka. RFA Tidespring is the first Tide-class tanker the Royal Navy has taken delivery of from South Korean shipbuilding company Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME). Tidespring’s port call to FLEACT Yokosuka was a scheduled visit sponsored by the United Nations Command (Rear). FLEACT provides, maintains, and operates base facilities and services in support of 7th Fleet's forward-deployed naval forces, 83 tenant commands, and 24,000 military and civilian personnel.
