U.S. Marines assigned to Ground Combat Element, 1st Platoon, Alpha Company, 2nd Amphibious Assault Battalion, embarked aboard the multi-purpose amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima, receive training on knots and rope tying from Guatemalan Kaibil Special Forces members in Puerto Barrios, Gautemala. Iwo Jima is anchored off the shore of Guatemala supporting the Continuing Promise 2010 humanitarian civic assistance mission. The assigned medical and engineering staff embarked aboard Iwo Jima are working with partner nation's teams to provide medical, dental, veterinary and engineering assistance to eight different nations.
