MAYPORT, Fla. (Nov. 10, 2016) – Lt. Kurt Wukitsch, a flight surgeon at Naval Branch Health Clinic Mayport’s aviation medicine, conducts an eye exam on a patient. Since March 3, 1871, the Navy Medical Corps has continued the proud tradition of the "Ship's Surgeon," who was part of the ship's crew since the establishment of the Navy in 1775.
