170322-N-UX839-085 MAYAPO, Colombia (March 22, 2017) – Colombian service members load pallets of U.S. donated medical, dental and hygienic products at the Continuing Promise 2017 (CP-17) medical site in Mayapo, Colombia. Nearly 7 tons of supplies were delivered to Mayapo by the Navy’s Project Handclasp, which transports goods donated to them at no cost to charities. The donations will be distributed throughout the Guajira region of Colombia. CP-17 is a U.S. Southern Command-sponsored and U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet-conducted deployment to conduct civil-military operations including humanitarian assistance, training engagements, and medical, dental, and veterinary support in an effort to show U.S. support and commitment to Central and South America.
