PACIFIC OCEAN (April 1, 2017) Senior Chief Electronics Technician Patrick McKee, from St. Louis, and Chief Gas Turbine Systems Technician (Mechanical) Matthew Dumont, from Lufkin, Texas, cut a cake celebrating the 124th birthday of the chief petty officer aboard the Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruiser USS Princeton (CG 59) while underway for a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX) with the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group in preparation for an upcoming deployment. COMPTUEX tests the mission readiness of the strike group's assets through simulated real-world scenarios and their ability to perform as an integrated unit.
