U.S. Army Sgt. Cruser Barnes, cavalry scout and air assault instructor, Army National Guard Warrior Training Center, gives instructions on how to properly navigate the ‘Tough One’ obstacle, during day zero of U.S. Army Central’s first Air Assault Course, April 4, 2017, at Camp Buehring, Kuwait. The ‘Tough One’ obstacle includes rope, net climbing and walking along wooden planks. It is one of two obstacles candidates must pass in order to continue forward on day zero. The Air Assault Course is a 12-day class that allows U.S. military personnel in the USARCENT theater of operations the unique opportunity to become air assault qualified, while deployed outside the continental United States.
