APRA HARBOR, Guam (April 7, 2017) -- Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo, Delegate of the U.S. territory of Guam, hands the SMS Cormoran commemorative wreath to divers while several U.S., German and Guam distinguished visitors on board a charter boat in Apra Harbor honor and pay tribute to the memorial marking the 100th year since SMS Cormoran was scuttled as a response to the United States' call to surrender the ship after the start of World War I in Guam. The memorial, a 10-foot wreath, sign and a German Army Imperial flag were affixed to the Cormoran 120 feet below the surface to commemorate a significant piece of U.S. and Guam history 100 years later.
