Commandant of the Marine Corps Gen. James F. Amos slices the first piece of cake following a ceremony celebrating the 235th birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps in the hangar bay of the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan. Amos was a central figure in making Marine Corps squadrons a mainstay for the Navy’s carrier air wings.
