Sailors aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) man the phone and distance line during an opposed replenishment at sea evolution with the Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler USNS Yukon (T-AO 202). The P&D line is marked with a flag every 20 feet to maintain a safe distance between ships, and also provides for sound-powered bridge-to-bridge communications. Ronald Reagan and Yukon performed the opposed RAS as part of a Composite Training Unit Exercise. Ronald Reagan is currently underway completing COMPTUEX in preparation for an upcoming deployment.
