PACIFIC OCEAN, Calif. -- Lance Cpl. Kieran Hayes, a landing support specialist with Combat Logistics Battalion 15, the Logistics Combat Element of the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, makes adjustments to chains for a helicopter support team training operation where two M777 Howitzers will be transported from ship-to-shore during Composite Training Unit Exercise, May 2, 2017. Through ship-to-shore connectors, the Marine Air-Ground Task Force is able to transport massive equipment and masses of supplies ashore, bearing the full force of kinetic combat power or humanitarian assistance – as applicable. COMPTUEX is the second at-sea training exercise that provides opportunities to sharpen mission essential skill sets prior to the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s Certification Exercise and Western Pacific 17-2 deployment.
