PACIFIC OCEAN – Lance Cpl. Caitlin McCoy and Lance Cpl. Kobe Loonsfoot, landing support specialists with Combat Logistics Battalion 15, the Logistics Combat Element of the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, make adjustments to ropes for an upcoming helicopter support team training operation where two M777 Howitzers will be transported from ship-to-shore during COMPUTEX, May 2, 2017. Through ship-to-shore connectors, the Marine Air-Ground Task Force is able to transport massive equipment and masses of supplies ashore, bearing the full force of kinetic combat power or humanitarian assistance – as applicable. COMPTUEX is the second at-sea training exercise that provides opportunities to sharpen mission essential skill sets prior to the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s Certification Exercise and Western Pacific 17-2 deployment.
