170518-N-YM543-063 YOKOSUKA, Japan (May 18, 2017) - Cmdr. Jason Eckhardt, from League City, Tx., Executive Officer of the U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19), center, receives a final parting gift from Command Master Chief Charles Ziervogel and the CPO Mess as he is "bonged off". Cmdr. Eckhardt was properly relieved by Cmdr. Richard Zamberlan, from Ann Arbor, Mich., as Executive Officer. Blue Ridge is in an extensive maintenance period in order to modernize the ship to continue to serve as a robust communications platform in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations.
