Abdul Nasser Al-Mahdawi, Diyala province Governor, speaks during the grand opening of the Rafidain Bank in Muqdadiyah, Iraq, Nov. 29. The Diyala Provincial Reconstruction Team, local Iraqi Security Forces and the 2nd Advise and Assist Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, provided micro-grants earlier this year to help stimulate the economy in the Sala-Aruba Marketplace within the city. Due to the influx of revenue vendors and shopkeepers reopened businesses in the marketplace, facilitating the need for a local bank.
