U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Andres Gomez (Left) and Lance Cpl. Ivan Franck (Right), both chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defense specialists, wait for fellow CBRN defense specialists to finish setting up their decontamination center at Pohang, South Korea, June 30, 2017, during the Korean Marine Exercise Program 17-7. The scenario provided U.S. and ROK Marines with the skills necessary to detect and identify CBRN threats together. KMEP is a continuous bilateral training exercise that promotes stability on the Korean Peninsula and enhances the ROK and U.S. alliance. Gomez is a Los Angeles native, and Franck is from Brooklyn, New York. Both are with 3rd Marine Logistics Group Headquarters Regiment, 3rd MLG, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
