Chief Warrant Officer 2 John Young, survey officer, 3rd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, points out a survey control point to another Marine while surveying the range for annual artillery training here Feb. 1. A team of seven Marines arrived at the training area two days before training started to establish azimuths and the directions of fire. 3rd Battalion, 12th Marines is conducting live-fire artillery training to maintain operational readiness of the artillery battalion in support of the U.S. – Japan security alliance.
