During an Operation Proper Exit town hall meeting, Aug. 8, at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, retired U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Joe Healey, formerly with 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group, describes how he recovered from injuries sustained in a helicopter crash while serving in Afghanistan. Healey will visit Iraq and Afghanistan as part of OPE, a program that allows wounded combat veterans to return to the site of their injuries, and leave on their own terms.
