CAIRNS, Australia – U.S. Marine Cpl. Micheal Smith, rifleman, Company K, 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, Marine Rotational Force Darwin, receives a patch from Brigadier Neil Sweeney, Commander of Exercise Kowari 2017, during the opening ceremony for the exercise Aug. 23, 2017. During the ceremony all participating members were given patches to commemorate the exercise. Kowari is an annual adventure training activity held in Australia to reinforce trilateral military relationships, trust and co-operation between Australia, China and the United States.
