CAIRNS, Australia – U.S. Marine Cpl. Nicolas Villanueva, motor transportation operator, Combat Logistics Detachment, Marine Rotational Force Darwin, rehearses kayak capsize drills in preparation for a sea kayaking expedition during Exercise Kowari 2017 Aug. 23, 2017. The exercise will involve six days of adventurous training activities, including sea kayaking, white water rafting, mountaineering and canyon trekking, all designed to challenge the participants in order to foster teamwork and resilience. Kowari is an annual training activity held in Australia to reinforce trilateral military relationships, trust and co-operation between Australia, China and the United States.
