Lance Cpl. Charles Plouffe is a combat correspondent with 3rd Marine Division, supporting Northern Viper, Aug. 11-28, 2017. His job is to document the exercise through photos and videos. Northern Viper is a combined-joint exercise held to enhance regional cooperation between participating nations to collectively deter security threats. “It has been a great experience getting to see the U.S and Japanese forces work with and learn from each other,” said Plouffe, a Long Beach, California native. “I look forward to more opportunities like this.” (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt.
