ASAKURA, Japan (Sep. 1, 2017) Sailors assigned to U.S. Fleet Activities Sasebo and Asakura locals work to dig out a house damaged by a mudslide in Asakura, Japan. More than 90 Sailors volunteered to help repair damage caused by a mudslide. Sasebo-based Sailors routinely participate in community outreach and service projects with the Japanese community as a way to establish a foundation of trust and friendship.
