Students from Central Lakes College and Perham High School have the opportunity to shadow Brian Dirks, Camp Ripley Environmental Team, March 8, as he attaches a new collar to a black bear and explains the collars purpose in the telemetry-based study of black bears. Annually, members of the Camp Ripley Environmental Team perform den visits to gain insight on the health and well-being of the black bear to assist in the advancement of medical research and other scientific advancements.
