171009-N-RD713-252 SASEBO, Japan (Oct. 9, 2017) Sailors assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) and Royal Australian Navy (RAN) Sailors assigned to the Anzac-class frigate HMAS Parramatta (FFH 154), compete in a soccer game held at Nimitz Park, U.S. Fleet Activities Sasebo. The soccer tournament, held during Parramatta’s scheduled port visit to Sasebo, Japan, highlighted the camaraderie and longstanding relationship between the U.S. Navy and RAN. Bonhomme Richard, forward-deployed to Sasebo, Japan, is serving forward to provide a rapid-response capability in the event of a regional contingency or natural disaster.
