171026-N-OW019-005 U.S 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Oct. 26, 2017) Ens. Tyler Renn (center), a native of Madison, Alabama, assigned to the operations department aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52), acts as the approach conning officer in preparation for a replenishment-at-sea (RAS) with the Henry J. Kaiser-class underway replenishment oiler USNS Tippecanoe (T-AO 199) while Cmdr. Benjamin Miller (right), the ship’s executive officer, and Operations Specialist 3rd Class Marianna Felice stand by. Pearl Harbor is part of the America Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and, with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
