(171027-M-MW401-157) U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Oct. 27, 2017) – Lt. Cdr. James Myers, Chaplain and Maj. David Segraves, Staff Judge Advocate, both with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit Command Element, award unit “Game Balls” to deserving Marines aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) during an all hands formation on the flight deck. The “Game Ball” award goes to those who have went above and beyond what is required of their military occupational specialty and work to constantly better themselves as well as the Marines around them. America is the flagship for the America Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
