(171027-M-QG131-077) U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Oct. 26, 2017) – A Marine runs back to his position in formation after being awarded the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit “Game Ball” during an all hands formation aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6). The “Game Ball” award goes to those who have went above and beyond what is required of their military occupational specialty and work to constantly better themselves as well as the Marines around them. The 15th MEU and America Amphibious Ready Group are deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners and to preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
