(171027-M-MW401-188) U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Oct. 27, 2017) – Sgt. Maj. Dennis Campbell, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit Sergeant Major awards the “Bull Whip” to Staff Sgt. Christian Caba, administrative chief with the 15th MEU, during an all hands formation on the flight deck aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6). The “Bull Whip” award goes to a Staff Non-Commissioned Officer who went above and beyond what is required of their military occupational specialty and work to constantly better themselves as well as the Marines in their care. The 15th MEU and America Amphibious Ready Group are deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners and to preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
