CAMP HANSEN, OKINAWA, Japan— Sgt. Maj. Michael West fills out a score sheet during a Food Service Specialist of the Quarter Competition Oct. 31 aboard Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan. West, along with other judges asked competitors about their inspirations and what they wanted to do in the Marine Corps. The competitors were judged on: serving methods and presentation, portion size, nutritional balance, menu and ingredient compatibility, creativity and flavor, texture and doneness. West is the sergeant major of Camp Hansen.
