WESTERN PACIFIC (Nov. 13, 2017) Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Equipment) 1st Class George Pownall, right, and Airman Quadarius Donald man a catapult control room aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68). The Nimitz Carrier Strike Group is on a regularly scheduled deployment in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts. The U.S. Pacific Fleet has patrolled the Indo-Pacific routinely for more than 70 years promoting regional security, stability and prosperity.
