ARABIAN GULF (Nov. 23, 2017) Lt. Cmdr. Matthew Felton, chief engineer aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Hopper (DDG 70), discusses operations in the ship’s central control station with Secretary of the Navy Richard V. Spencer during his visit on Thanksgiving Day. Hopper is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
