Sailors assigned to Pre-commissioning Unit Michael Murphy (DDG 112) hold the Honor posthumously awarded to Lt. Michael Murphy (SEAL) during the ship's christening ceremony at General Dynamics Bath Iron Works in Bath, Maine. Murphy was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions during Operation Red Wings in Afghanistan in June 2005. He was the first Sailor awarded the Medal of Honor since the Vietnam War.
