POPE ARMY AIRFIELD, N.C. — Airman 1st Class Jacob Cutler from the 61st Airlift Squadron at Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark., conducts a pre-flight inspection on a C-130J Hercules on Green Ramp here Nov. 28. Airmen from the 43d Air Mobility Squadron Aerial Port Flight here loaded cargo on the aircraft in support of the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division during a Battalion Mass Tactical Exercise, which began Nov. 27 and continues through Dec. 1. Airmen in the 43d Air Mobility Operations Group are training with air and ground crews from several Air Mobility Command units during the exercise, providing operations, maintenance, Aerial Port, fuels, ground equipment and other support. Airlift at Pope Field is provided through the Joint Airborne/Air Transportability Training program — or JA/ATT — giving Airmen opportunities to train for real-world airlift operations with other services.
