U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Joshua Lail, an explosive ordnance disposal technician deployed from the 4th Civil Engineer Squadron, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C., uses a control unit to maneuver the arm of a Talon robot to pick up a mortar tail boom, which stabilize and guide the ordnance through the air, during an operations check on the robot at Forward Operating Base Azizullah, Afghanistan, May 5. Lail performs weekly operation checks on the Talon to assure proper functionality for future EOD responses.
