U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Joshua Lail, an explosive ordnance disposal technician deployed from the 4th Civil Engineer Squadron, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C., watches the arm of a Talon robot pick up a mortar tail boom, which stabilize and guide the ordnance through the air, during an operations check at Forward Operating Base Azizullah, Afghanistan, May 5, 2011. The robot goes through an operations check at least once a week to maintain proper functionality for upcoming EOD response missions.
