Airmen assigned to the 332nd Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron prepare
hundreds of unserviceable 20mm rounds as part of a controlled detonation
Sept. 22, 2017, in Southwest Asia. The mission was to dispose of expired, or
otherwise unserviceable, munitions gathered from U.S. and coalition forces
in the region. Safely detonating the ordnance avoids the buildup of
dangerous stockpiles and saves the cost of shipping it elsewhere. (U.S. Air
