Staff Sgt. Joseph Arcega, a loadmaster with the 36th Airlift Squadron, clears the ramp of a C-130J Super Hercules after a low-cost, low-altitude airdrop during Operation Christmas Drop Dec. 11, 2017, near the island of Fais. Christmas Drop allows aircrews to train critical humanitarian assistance/disaster relief airdrop techniques over unsurveyed drop zones alongside international partners: the Japan Air Self Defense Force (Koku Jieitai) and Royal Australian Air Force. By continuing to work closely with U.S. allies and partners Pacific Air Forces teams deter aggression, increase shared operational capacity, and maintain peace and stability in the Indo-Asia Pacific region.
